Black hole enthusiast
I’m an MPA fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Garching, Germany, and and incoming Assistant Professor at the Department of Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences and Associate JILA fellow at CU Boulder, USA, working on a variety of topics in theoretical Astrophysics. See Research for my research interests.
My undergraduate major was Chemistry (earning teaching practicum in Chemistry) and I double-majored in Physics at Seoul National University. Then I came to the US for higher studies (in memoriam Professor Moo Young Han, who gave me the reason to study in the US). I received my MA in Physics and PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Stony Brook University. I was supervised by Rosalba Perna at Stony Brook University.
(In memoriam Professor Moo Young Han who inspired me to study abroad after his one-hour lecture in 2010)
Sports enthusiast
I love almost all kinds of sports. I love playing sports rather than watching them. My favorite sports are tennis, basketball and snowboarding. I am learning how to play golf.
Music enthusiast
I used to play drum in a few rock bands (Fullerene and one cent/gram pork in direct translation and more) when I was an undergraduate student. The drummer at the center of the picture is me! I do not have any specific preferences in music. I love listening rock, Jazz, hip-hop and classic music as well.
