I’m an Assistant Professor in the Department of Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences and Associate JILA fellow at the University of Colorado, Boulder, USA, working on every theoretical aspect of dynamical interactions between stars and black holes in various astrophysical settings and their observational signatures, including gravitational waves and electromagnetic signatures. My research areas are
- Multi-messenger transients, such as tidal disruption events and stellar collisions
- Active galactic nuclei
- Multi-body dynamical interactions
- Gravitational waves
- Hot jupiters
- Stellar binary evolution, such as stable mass transfer
In particular, my endeavor for the last couple of years has been towards bringing up our understanding of multi-body dynamical interactions and transient formation in those beyond the conventional picture.
If you are currently a non-CU undergraduate student interested in pursuing a PhD in my group, I encourage you to apply for the PhD program in the APS Department at CU Boulder. I would be happy to chat about potential projects if you are admitted to the program. Unfortunately, I am not offering any position in my group to students directly outside the Department.
Current CU grad and undergraduate students are welcome to reach out directly if you are looking for research opportunities.
